High Dynamic Range (HDR) photography is a process in which we shoot some bracketed shots and then process the shots in software (Photoshop or Photomatix) to bring out the detail in the shadows. Our cameras typically shoot a range of about 5 stops of light. Our eye sees over 11 stops of light. Through HDR, we can increase the stops of light that our photo exhibits.

Time Lapse photography is when we take multiple shots and combine them into a movie. Typically this movie will have the effect of speeding up time. The standard digital movie is about 30 frames per second. If you take a photograph once every three seconds and then compile it into a movie, it would take you three minutes of photos to make one second of video. Speeding up time is an interesting effect.

Now... If you combine HDR and Time Lapse together, you get a totally different type of movie. This class will explore this technique and help you through all of the difficulties of the compilation of these many different processes.
